The operative word here is "Take" which implies you have a choice.

You have no choice.

Like the vampire, does the vampire choose to be undead or do undead choose the vampire? I think it is the latter. Once bitten, the vampire either drinks blood or suffers but they can't die and they can't live, unless some stake wielding do gooder decides to break their heart. Vampires are somewhat tragic figures in that way. For a vampire, life has no value. Everything is pleasure and pain. For a mortal, life is a game of musical chairs and eventually the last chair disappears or they bring out more chairs and start the game all over again. Did they take life as it came or did they have a choice other than to not play and therefore die?

I don't see myself taking life as it comes but rather I rage at life until it is done. I think of it as going to the beach and backing into the surf. With eat step back wards the waves get higher and I struggle more to stay with my head above water. Pretty soon I have no footing and I either have to turn around and face those waves or drown for lack of effort. And then there is the undertow. Life is filled with surprises.

Like the hunters I have sent over to your place to find that little voice and capture her. I am sure there is money to be made off a little voice that gives you such interesting questions. I just don't have a name for her yet. She keeps telling you to change your name so I wonder what to call her. Perhaps Sibyl. I am not really keen on that name but it fits.
