To get rid off mole, where do you buy and place the trap. If I add rat poison with peanut butter, would it work? Even though, the food source claimed to be grub, I do not see grub problems, my loan does not show it and nor do I see Japanese beetles eating my dogwood trees. This is a nuisance that I can't stand. My whole neighborhood is complainng about this creature. Appreciate anyone sharing based on their personal experience on how to get rid off or kill this nuisance creature.

I am a professional mole trapper...SOSMoleTrapper.com
The only way to control them is to kill them by trapping-alot of the above answers may work for a short period of time (and I mean Maybe) but pls remember that 80% of their food source is earth worms-the rest are grubs and larva.
if you visit the above sight and purchase their kit which includes 3-4 traps and a video on how to set them-and you actually watch the video you will catch them.
pls keep in mind that my territory-Cleveland Ohio area-there is a relative to the mole that does even more damge-this is the shrew-catching them is more difficult as they are smaller and lighter-will not set-off mole traps.
pls do not use poisons-this can work its way up the food chain and you don't want to have kids dogs around poison
Even as a professional trapper -we never can eliminate them-just control them

Moles love grubs, however, they also love any bulbs you may have in your garden. You need to eliminate the source of the attraction to eliminate the pest. No food no pest!
If it is in fact moles, remove any/all spring or fall bulbs from your garden. Save them by planting them in an above ground ceramic planter. Apply an application of liquid Sevin to all turf and bed areas after the last frost. You will need to apply a granular antigrub agent for the next two year. Alternate the active ingrediant each year, however, apply the Sevin each year.
For some relief, follow the mole hill to the center point of your turf. With a hand trowel excavate the centerpoint from the sides of the tunnel. Place about a hand-full of 00 steel wool into the hole and back cover it. You can also do this around any of the tunnel. To get to your bulbs they eat through the steel wool. Imagine what that does. Hope it helps.

Dogs don't always catch the mole and leave bigger holes than the mole.
I learned this method on TV...buy the cheapest pine oil possible pour down the hills of the moles also cut slash in the tunnels and pour do this all over in the yard. Make sure when you slash the tunnel for pouring you leave
no holes for light to enter.

Permethrin SFR is labeled for a wide variety of insects including termites, fleas, ticks, and lawn insects. Read the label for the correct application rate, depending on the insect and whether the spraying is done on the inside of the home or outside.

Plant Castor Bean Plant in and around your yard. It gets pretty big but it will keep the moles at bay. I have a Jack Russell that does dig them out. He really doesn't destroy the yard as it seems as though they tunnel along the edge of the fench . He will also let you know when there is one he can't get too because it is in or under something.

Hire a good professional. If the neighborhood goes in on this and works together all at once you can be successful. Cyanide capsuels in the tunnels will work but need to be done by a professional.
