I think women in today's society want to be beautiful and thin just like what they see in the magazines. Men want beautiful women to look at, have, hold, etc.
Men don't typically care what size they become as they get older....some do, but not all. I think most men, as they get older, figure if they have the girl then they don't need to keep impressing anyone. They can let loose; eat and be free! I'm not saying that men will become overweight, but most of the men I know that are settled down have a bit of a pot belly do to the good eats they get from their wives! :)

So true, women are more subjected to publicity, to being the perfect size, weight. They have a need to feel attractive to the opposite sex. Publicity, portrays women as a sex symbol.
Some, women can be obsessed by it. Men, well thats, a different story. It evolves around an age dilemma.
For example, the guy that drinks at the pub, has a pot belly,
he exclaims, "I paid for that."
So, much obesity in the world today.
Its the old saying, Take me for who I am, not what I could be.
Sad isn't it.

of course they do
women are constantly in a competition, a competition to look good for their spouse, and better than other women. there is a standard to meet for every woman.
but on the other side, you could say that they do not worry as much as men, because men don't worry enough, if they did, they would probly be even.
anyway, most just worry about it and don't really do anything about it.

I think that women do worry more about their diet than men because society will accept a man's "gut" and call him distinguished but a woman will just be called fat.

i think men worry about the dieting just as much as women...women just talk about it more. It's weird...I worry about eating too much and my husband worries about trying to eat more so he can gain weight

yes, because they are always worried about being fat or being called fat but very few of them actually do anything about, they like to complain about it and notice how much bigger they get. then they go to the gym for about a week and see how much work it is and go eat salads for lunch and think that will do the job
