when you think you don't look like half-dead or so much of a clown , then you are good. just kidding.
you always want to be appropriate when using a make-up, you don't want to go to the beach loaded with eye shadow do you? a blush, curl your lashes, and a tint gloss always work, practice putting on make-up then ask some of your friends or family about their opinion. they see better than we do here =)

The best way to know if you're using the right color is to go to a place in the mall where they have free makeovers. Like Merle Norman, they can match your colors up real well. If you can't do that, then go to a place where they give you samples of make up and just try differents colors to see what works best,

well, i groom my eyebrows with vaseline so it looks natural and it stays in place, natural color eyeshadow thats almost the same color as your lids or no eyeshadow at all would do. a little bit of eyeliner on my lash line so it wont show up but it enhances my eyes to look sharper. mascara, cream blush and lipgloss. i wear that kind of make up when i'm really lazy.

gold tones are more natural for me...i am not too sure of your complexion but stay to natural colors and less is better. don't go heavy on the eyeline of eye colors....stay simple...foundation is not a must but a light bronzer may wor as well...and keep the lips as natural as possible...

put on a foundation that smoothens out your skin but doesnt "change" your skin tone to much becuase then it starts looking really fake. Alight touch of mascara and blush and youre good to go...dont heavily apply anything.

when your face shade matches up with your neck. You can take a picture of yourself in your digicam and see if its too much. It works for me.

When I use neutral colors for my eyes, I don't need foundation and concealer and all that stuff.
