I am almost 32 weeks pregnant and I am thinking of leaving work at 37 weeks. It is going to be a struggle with $$$, because I only get paid for the 6 weeks after delivery.
I am already in alot of discomfort sitting at my desk all day and I get no sleep because my back hurts all night(and yes I have the maternity pillow and I see a chirospractor..lol).
I am just wondering what the average time is, did you work til your due date...etc. Any advice would be appreciated :)

When I was working I stayed until a week before my due date. Only because I starting getting a lot of back pains, and I really wanted to rest up before I went into labor.

First off, Congrats! When is your due date? Mine is May 28th. I see that you are almost 32 weeks too. I am taking my maternity leave May 11th. So, I will be around 37 weeks too. I hate working now, Be thankful that you get paid for 6 weeks, I dont get paid for ANY of it. If I did, I would have already taken off. I am about 20 minutes late to work everyday, because Its pretty much impossible for me to get the energy to wake up. I guess it all depends on how long you are planning on taking off and whether or not you have any help financially. Is the father helping or working too? If so, I personally would take my vacation if I were you when I was about 34-35 weeks, so then you would get paid for 6 weeks and would only be out of money for maybe 3 weeks, but hopefully would have help. Good Luck!

14 consecutive days, so 10 running days if you happen to do 'common' weeks and now not shift paintings. You nonetheless get your common annual go away entitlement however your corporation could have further entitlements in location for maternity and paternity go away and many others so it is valued at getting a duplicate of the maternity and paternity go away coverage out of your boss. Me and hubby have simply began mat and pat go away so are good versed on this! Make certain that you are taking your A/L earlier than maternity go away if you'll be on mat go away whilst the A/L 12 months alterations or you may also lose it (and I doubt your organization will remind you to take it!).

The first time i was pregnant i left work about 2 weeks before my due date, so at about 38 weeks, during that 2 weeks i was wishing i was at work because i was so bored and had nothing to do. I am currently 24 weeks pregnant right now, so far as much as i know i am going to stay at work as long as i can, from the experience the first time around is making me think that i do not want to do that again.

So i would suggest work for as long as you feel comfortable, if you can't stand to be at work any longer then see if you can take off.

I'm 13 days away from my due date and I'm still working. I work at an office so really I don't have a whole lot of lifting to do. I have a little bit of back pain and my feet get a little swollen. It's really up to the person in general on what they want to do, but I plan on working up until my due date.

Hope this helps you some :)

I had a baby in October and I actually got 12 weeks off. 6 weeks with 60% pay and 6 weeks unpaid (with PTO) I was due Oct. 11th and I was scheduled until Oct. 10th. I work as a Nurse in a Hospital on my feet all day. My water was leaking Oct. 7th and I had worked Oct. 6th and delivered at 1:17 AM on Oct. 9th. So I guess short answer is that I worked until the day before I went into the hospital because if you can stand it you want every day you can get with your little one. 3 Months wasn't even enough!!

due date is may 26th and i went on leave at 29 weeks this due to my job being a hairdresser i was very busy all day i am extremely big with this pregnancy as Ive been told i carry a lot of water and it was causing me great pain.
my feet were huge when id get home and i was exhausted
now I'm off i don't get any of the pelvis pain or shooting pains down my legs that i was getting that shows that these where due to work.
I'm lucky as i get maternity pay for 39 weeks thou and had Holiday to take to.
i think you should listen to your body your baby is more important then work and extra tiredness and stress isn't good or either of you id leave sooner if i were you.
good luck

I was planning on working up till my due date, because everyone thought the baby would be late. Well, she arrived 3 weeks early... my water broke as I was getting my shoes on to leave for work.
