If the balloon gains -8.0 uC, then the denim now has 8.0 uC.

d = 5 cm = 0.05 m.

Use Coulomb's Law
0^-6)(8
F = Q1*Q2/(4*PI*epsilon*r^2)

= (8x1x10^-6)/(4*PI*8.85x10^-12*0.05*0.05)
= 230 N

(That seems very large, but then 8x10^-6 is a lot of charge)

in case you are able to settle for an answer in undeniable English devoid of the educational clinical mumbo jumbo, i'd say this is static electrical energy. That term will pass farther at a celebration than any equation.
