I watched that new TV series last night called "The Riches" it wasn't 1/2 bad, but I just didn't really understand a whole lot of what was going on. Could anyone enlighten me? I looked on there website but it really didn't give much backround information. Thanks

They cover this in the first minute of the show but you apparently missed the intro.
The show began with the Husband and his children fleecing a wedding for gifts for his wife who was getting out of prison. Along the way to pick her up a police man pulls them over and confiscates the gifts calling them Irish Gypsies. They manage to get away but they have nothing for the wife plus they are late so they wind up meetig her at the conveience store they stopped at.
Next thing you know they run into a picnic in her honor where her family is all there and the man in charge is dying and his son is telling everyone he is next in line so they have to listen to him. He also has decided that their daughter must marry this goober of his chosing. This ends up in a fight and the boss's son wins. That night however the father sneaks into the main cabin and steals the families' money, $50,000 and takes his family out of there.
They run into another family that think there is something fishy when they don't want to join them for a gift. A chase ensues between the RVs and a mercedes is run off the road. The family stays to help. The other family runs for the hills.
The couple in the mercedes die and the family takes their stuff and push the car in a swamp.
looking for somewhere to hide the father comes up with the brilliant idea to hide at the dead couple's new house. No one knows what these people look like and so the grift is on.
The Wife finds the money and buries it but now she can't remember where she buried it.
The Older son has a girlfriend back with the family but that is a problem because the boss's son knows who she is and is using her to locate them.
The daughter is eye candy they use to get their way but they do not use for sex.
The younger brother is confused dressing as both a boy and a girl, but he is highly intelligent.
And the mother is a drug addict fresh out of the pen and the boss's son swears he has slept with her.
They moved into the house, took over the identities of the couple and are now in the process of getting jobs and identities for their children.
Now that should be enough to get you up to date.

They are a family of gypsies. In the first episode the teenage daughter had been promised to the son of another gypsy family, but Wayne did not approve. They all left and a different gyspy family followed them, thinking they knew where a good scam would make them lots of money. Along the way they got into an accident where a rich couple was killed. Wayne and the family assumed their lives. Just as a side note, the mom just got out of prison and has a drug problem.

They are "travelers" or "gypsies". They are on the run and have started to live and assume the identities of a couple they found dead from a car accident. They are not good people, as are most of the characters around them. The show holds most of its suspense from the overwhelming feeling they will be found out at any moment.
