it all depends on who else you have on your team. its true, second base is a weak position, because there is really only chase utley as far as premeire players. cano is good, but will he suffer a sophmore slump? (personally, i hope not because i have him in two of my leagues). however, you can find pretty good sleeper picks there that most people dont realize, people like julio lugo, howie kendrick or rickie weeks. igawa is a big question, and a bit of a gambel, since he hasnt faced major league hitting in a 162 game season before, (this is a gamble im taking in one of my leagues), so no one can be sure what he will do. ichiro is poised for a great year, espescially since this is the last year of his contract, and he is already a great, and surprisingly overlooked, player. isringhausen, yes, injuries have been a problem, but i believe he will continue to be a very good closer and should be sure to give you at least thrity saves throughout the year, but closers are a dime a dozen, because at this time last year, no one knew who takashi saito or jj putz, so you never know who may become a great closer this year (joel zumaya)

so....., should you take the trade? if you can back up your second base, then yes, if you need someone to give you steals, then yes, or if youre desperate for saves, then yes. if you dont fall into one of those three criteria, then i dont think you should, but its all up to you

i hope i helped you out, or at least gave you something to think about

Who is your back up 2b. Even so I think this is a great trade. Your getting top talent (being Suzuki and Isringhausen for a Good 2ber (but as util or anything else he is a bit above average) and your tradeing a pitcher will only start after the begining of the season for a proven closer. Bravo great trade. (if you feel bad about not haveing a 2ber you can trade Suzuki kendrick and a SP or something and do just fine)

I would take Ichiro and Isringhausen in a heart beat. Kei Igawa is unproven in the MLB and cano may have a drop off from his average. Just have a back up 2b to replace Cano.

If Ian Kinsler is available i would snatch him up! =D

For sure go for it. Cano gets you batting average and not much else, while ichiro gets you steals and average and TONS of runs. Igawa is a major question mark because he is coming over from the japanese league, a much weaker league. Remember, IGAWA WAS NOT EVEN THE #1 STARTER ON HIS TEAM IN JAPAN!!! do the trade!

good luck!

I would never do that trade unless you have another good second basemen like Utley or Roberts. Second base is such a weak postition it is hard to find a good one and you have one of the top three. Also i think Izzy will continue to get hurt sometime during the year.
