what is gyroball? what is its relevance to matsuzaka's pitching prowess?

I think they still use a Rawlings baseball. The gyroball is a variation of the Screwball. Matsuzaka just experimented with a different grip and apparently got a funny movement from the ball, which will give him a huge advantage because batters haven't seen a new pitch to hit since the splitter.

There's no such thing as the gyroball. Matsuzaka said that himself.
