well I guess its just as unpleasant for an animal as it would be for a human - we all breath the same air!
I dont think animals are really given consideration when it comes to stuff like smoking in their presence - but Im with you on this one -it is wrong.
xx

I've smoked for 40 years. I've kept most animals as pets and always have dogs and cats.
NOT ONE has DIED as a result of inhaling smoke and apart from one accident (car) all have died of old age or diseases purely relevant to their species!
The paranoia surrounding this subject is getting beyond a joke!
To listen to some people just getting a whiff of smoke is going to kill them!
Do you really think that every-one who has died since smoking was introduced into this country did so because of tobacco!

It's terrible! I work in a zoo, and we are only just enacting no smoking rules on grounds. Think of how tiny the lungs are on many of our companion animals, and how little exposure they would need to do damage. It's like blowing smoke in a newborn's face.

Yeah I can see what you mean but I care for stray animals and try to find GOOD homes for them which is sometimes difficult. So if I have someone who will love and care for the animal I don't care whether they smoke or not!

Does it really make a difference in your life??? I don't smoke, but it really doesn't bother if people want to smoke. Get off your high horse, look around the world is falling apart, children starving, countries at war and you are worried about people smoking around animals... What next????? If I were you I would get off the Internet as you are omitting heat that will effect the ozone layer, stop driving, don't use any electrical appliances, etc........... Check on your own carbon foot print before making stupid statements...

Whatever....I'm sick of all this smoking shite. If people want to smoke in front of animals then so be it. People have been doing it for centuries , the same with smoking in bars

well obviously its exactly the same as smoking around humans i guess, unless its fish cos they're under water so it can't affect them can it? never really thought about that does smoke affect you if your under water? then again fish aren't animals so its debatable whether they come under your general question. you might want to specify next time.
