I'm noticing as my pregnancy goes along that by the end of the day my ankles are pretty swollen. I was on my feet most of last night and when I sat down they were the biggest I'd ever seen them, and usually my right ankle is much better than my left. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat :)

Guess I should mention that when I go to bed at night and wake up in the morning my ankles return to their normal size

That's normal. I had the same thing happen. It's a combination of water retention and the baby sitting on some major nerves. (See? He or she is getting on your nerves already!!! lol)
Seriously, though... It's normal. And depending on what side the baby is mostly on, which I'm guessing is on your right, that side will get bigger because of the pressure. Try drinking more water and cut down on your salt and grease, if you didn't already. That could help a lot.
It's only going to get worse as you get bigger and so does he.

This is a pretty common sort of thing in pregnancy. One of the things that helps a bit is to drink more water. Granted, you'll also go to the bathroom more, but your ankles will be a lot less swollen at the end of the day. Also stay away from salt as much as possible, as well as carbonated drinks, as they contain sodium, and that causes water retention.

yes I bloated big time..My face, legs, ankles and feet did. You got to watch what u eat its got a lot to do with sodium intake and sometimes it could be other things. Take it easy on ur feet dont stand too long at once and when they get swollen prop ur feet up for a while. Talk to ur OB bout it too thats something u really need to let him know bout.

Ohhhhhhh yes....I'm 31 weeks and I have major cankles (calf merged with ankle). My feet and ankles are so gross and swollen!!! Sometimes I can't wear shoes or socks because they get so bad!

I think it's pretty normal and just another unpleasant symptom of pregnancy.

Yes That happened with both of my pregnancies. Try to keep off your feet more. Or when you can sit and prop your feet up. You should also tell your Dr about this. Sweeling of the ankels is a sign of diabetes.

I had that when I was pregnant... it's common for pregnant women to have swollen feet/ankles. I'm a massage therapist so I see a lot of this in my practice.

When I was pregnant I had "cankles" you know, the ankle is the same as my calf. Try to drink lots of water, and sit with your feet up as much as possible.

Totally normal. It's swelling and water weight. There is so much pressure on your spine, and your circulation is not as good. Plus you really need to keep your feet propped up good. That's what my doctor told me.
