I was just wondering if hamsters could eat rabbit pellets. My friend told me that she feeds her hamster pumpkin seeds, rabbit pellets, bird seeds and nutritional yeast (a stress reducer). Is this actually a healthy diet for hamsters?

nope not healthy atall! rabbit pellets have been made for rabbits and hamster food for hamsters. the size difference is huge between them . it would be better off for your friend to get a mix especially for hamsters to ensure the hammy is getting the right amount of nutrients

They can eat rabbit pellets, but the pellets are formulated for rabbits and contain more fat in them. It would be preferable to feed hamsters food that's made specifically for them.

no it's not. rabbit pellets contain to much of each vitamin for that little hamster and the seeds are fatty. seeds should only be given as a treat.

Hamsters are evil little creatures who can eat pretty much anything. I would try the food that is specially designed for hamsters though... It might be the best balanced diet for them.

Yes, they can eat rabbit food just like ferrets and cat food.
