Most of the employers I have delt with over the years are willing if you tell them upfront at the interview and up till then you have had a good attendence record.

Hi! I've been on both sides of the situation so I might be able to give you some good advice. In the past, when interviewing a person for a job...as long as the person was up front about this, and the date was far enough away to plan for someone to do your job while you are gone, then it never was a problem. Giving a potential employer as much advance notice as possible will gain you much more respect than waiting until it's almost time. And it also depends on the type of job you get. Even after speaking about this in the interview, I'd still reccomend writing a short note saying that you have requested the 2 weeks off and be very specific about the dates...this might not always be necessary, but it will definitely protect you in the future if there has been a change in management or the person forgets and tries to say that they didn't know ahead of time. Unfortunately, this does happen! Most potential employers will realize how important a wedding is...one of the most important milestones in your life...and as long as they know ahead of time...and this is plenty of advance notice...then they shouldn't have a problem with this at all. Oh yeah, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! and best wishes for you and your fiance'! How exciting and I don't know were you live but, I imagine that you are very excited about spending your honeymoon in Europe! (let me know if you need someone to carry your luggage! lol) Good luck and hope you find a great job too!

that is a long way off- just find a job and then when it gets to be a couple months out mention it to them- if you start a new job now you should earn a week's vacation by next year and then you can probably get another week off without pay or by using sick days. worse comes to worse you have to quit your job before the wedding.

That is a year away, so you should have vacation time by then. But once hired it would be best to let them know right away. They will probably tell you it is to early to request that time off, just remember to request the time off next January.
