Need to take precautions for STD's. Don't be a fool. Most people do have sex prior to marriage. I used to think you should wait for marriage, but sex plays such a big part in a marriage that you need to know that you are sexually compatible before you make such a big commitment.

I could not imaging having married my husband without first making sure that we were sexually compatible. I for one think that making sure you have sexual chemistry with someone is just as important has making sure you have the same values and that want the same things out of life as your partner.

If you aren't planning on marrying this person? I say still go for it. If both people are consenting adults there is no shame at all in having premarital sex.

When the time comes that you do find that special someone you want to be sure that you have some experience in the bedroom. He/she will thank you for that.

As for unprotected sex... if you are not in a very serious relationship with someone that you know and trust you should always be using condoms. Always.

I used to think that it was wrong to have sex before marriage. I realized that I was brainwashed by my parents. I didn't really believe that, so I did it. It was great. I am happy that I did because I couldn't imagine having sex with the same person forever and not even like it. I think I would rather know what I am getting myself into. But before I got married, I only had sex with people that I was exclusive with. So it's not like I was just sleeping around. As for unprotected sex, I had it but ONLY WHEN I WAS ON BIRTH CONTROL. I think it's great to use birth control until you feel ready to start a family.

Whether or not a couple has sex before marriage is completely between them. Unfortunately, most people today have already have sex before they meet their future spouse. Honestly, I wouldn't want my husband to be my first because you'd both feel a little bit awkward in not knowing a whole lot. But then again, I wouldn't want him thinking I was doing some circus act in bed either our first time. And until you're ready for a family, always use some sort of protection. That's just common sense.

Having unprotected sex is stupid and foolhardy, not to mention potentially lethal. That aside, I am all for sex before marriage. Sex is an integral part of marriage and it is important to assess your compatibility before committing to a life long relationship.

I'm married and we had premarital sex. Marriage is a life long commitment and I wanted a test drive before I signed the license.
