Are you as disapointed with the show as I am????
The show was hilarious 5-6 years ago...and now I cant even sit through an episode ...its very sad.
Homer is not stupid and funny anymore...hes zany and crazy (not funny)
The show needs to put down..like and old dog that just cant walk anymore...
Do You agree?????

this question keeps coming back and back and back. it is almost for something nearly 20 years old to remain exactly the same. times change, attitudes change, people change. i doubt there can be that much a difference between five years ago to now. i will give you this though, you hit the nail on the head with regard to homer being more crazy than stupid. but to want the show put to rest just might be just a little too soon. i do fear that the upcoming movie might be a waste of seven dollars, but they may be testing the market for something like adult swim, as staying on primetime and remaining within the rating of said time slot may have come past its prime. it has been slightly racy to begin with, but perhaps the makers of this show feel they need to take another direction. happens with just about every show that lasts past 8 years such as mash, married with children, cheers. as you say, changes may occur and make a show outright unwatchable, but i don't think the simpsons have hit that wall yet

I definitely don't agree, I believe the problem is that you're getting older and what may have been funny to you 5 or 6 years ago is definitely not gonna be funny to you today, there's a maturity there. Congratulations. But I believe the show is just as fantastic as ever and can't wait for the movie to come out!

I think it's an age thing.
I loved the simpsons, from series 3 to series 8, but I don't look forward to new episodes anymore.
It's sad to see a favorite TV show going lame.
The new series of Family Guy is worse.
When you run out of ideas, just give up.

I haven't watched the new ones for quite a few years now. There was a drop off after Conan OBrien left the show but it was still good. You're right, about 5 years ago it ran out of ideas.

I still like it, however I do think there are a lower percentage of really funny episodes than there were. Its still pretty good though, and I'm looking forward to the movie.

I agree. It's not as funny as it used to be. Now they rely on site gags and 'potty' humor. Every once in a while I'll see a funny part, but it's nowhere near as good as it used to be. It's dumbed down quite a bit. It's a shame.

I don't know what happened to The Simpsons. If you ask me they have become to political. I liked them when they didn't give a damn.
