just to everyone who picked anakin or darth vader......when anakin turns into darth vader, he loses a heck alot of force, like he was twice as powerful as the emperor, but when he transformed, he lost like, half of that, causing him to become weaker than the emperor. sooo....yoda is also not as powerful as anakin as stated in Episode 1.....if you've read Shadows of the Empire, Vader was actually working on reconstructing his lungs, but that's weird, or if you've read Star Wars the Dark Lord.....
i pick luke skywalker. his feats are amazing, just read the Expanded Universe books......i mean, some things nobody has ever achieved, and he has...it's amazing
he's also extremely good at lightsaber fighting, being able to fight one handed with his weak hand and winning against a foe with dual sabers

Dude! Yoda soooooooo kicked serious hind-end on the Emperor. So I'm thinking Yoda could rip many Star Wars characters a new one.

Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Anakin took on an entire clan of Tusken Raiders and killed them all. He also easily defeated Count Duku. Vader can kill people by using the force to strangle them to death. So that is why I think the strongest character is Anakin Skywalker who would later become Darth Vader.

the answer is simple - Anakin is the Jedi with the highest midiclorian count in recorded history his level has surpassed even yoda who was thought to be the most powerful Jedi ever, the thing that Anakin lacked was the proper training to hone his skills

I agree with almost everybody's answer on Anakin. I think Mace Windu is a powerful dude. He stood up to the Emperor and almost beat him until Anakin stepped in.

If you're defining it as pure strength/raw power, then it would have to be Mace Windu as evidenced in episode 3. He seemed to be the "strongest" jedi in the sense that he had the most brute strength.

Strength: Chewbaca
Force: Although Ani had the raw talent, Palpetine had the power and that, plus the fact that he could only die if someone else killed him, means that he would outlive his opponents.
