I know this is really cheeky but I'm getting really tired of my work colleagues insisting they walk past my desk to get to their destinations. Every time someone comes near I have to switch applications!!!! Can't wait for your comments especially those who will remind me I'm being paid to do a job not be on here.

Admit it, that is the fun of it, the risk of being caught.
Your company should eliminate sites such as yahoo from their computers.

I had the same problem when I went to relieve a woman that put to bed in another branch of my company and the computer was such in way that every tom, dick and harry sees my screen, what I did was just do my thing (i dont give a damn) even the boss sees me.
As far as there is no pending job on my table, then there is no cause for anybody to querry me.
But I got tired of it, because celleques were making me feel like am comiting an ofence by browing so I quickly ask to be relieved so I can go to my real office where I can do what I like.
I know this is not a solution, but this was what I did, it can be really annoying.

I'm at work in an office with the door closed. Every time some guy walks past I think its my boss. At least you can see whos coming! As for the people who say you should be working...... why aren't they?

Eat more onions and garlic. There IS such a thing as constructive gas. After a while, your nosy coworkers will avoid your desk like the plague.

Probably like me they think you are lazy and would like to catch you ,which would probably be good news for the poor people who would love your job ,and would appreciate it more than you obviously do.
Some people are born bone idle,and some make a living at it ,like you ,try working instead of shirking.

My guess is they are gathering information on you to give the boss reason to fire you. You ARE paid to work as you so rightly said and you should keep this sort of thing to do in your own time. I expect everyone else is having to work twice as hard to cover your work.

They are interested in you. lol. OR they are spies sent by your boss. OR passing by your table is the nearest route to get to their table.
