he'll probally dialate your eyes so he can really examine them. It opens up your pupils (makes your eyes look more black, instead of whatever color they are and they let in light until they undialate) so he can see inside your eye, big time. Maybe because its been 4 years, he wants to examine them more thourghly. I wouldn't worry about it.
The only thing, if he dialates your eyes, they will be very-very sensitive to light & espically computer screens, I mean..you wont be able to look at it, even with sunglasses on. They say it'll go away in a couple hours, but it takes quite a few more than a couple hours to go back to normal.
Have the appt done after school, work, whatever, if its after dark; have someone else drive you home-the headlights will murder you!!!
Good luck!!

As a fellow glasses wearer I have to have numerous tests done. I suffer from dry eyes so drops are always at the ready.
My optician puts some drops in my eye that is mixed with a yellow dye. She then looks in my eye with a blue light to check the healthiness and general well being of the eye and eyelid area. She looks in my eye, under my upper eyelid and under my lower lid too.
Nothing to worry about Im sure.
Good luck

The eye drops will just dilate your eyes so he can see them better. I see an eye specialist and a regular eye doctor. I have drops in my eyes all the time. Don't worry and make sure when you go to ask lots and lots of questions.

yes it's perfectly normal, the eye drops that he's gonna use is yellow, but you can wash it out right after the test, it's going to make your eyes really heavy and very watery.

I have had that done a few times and I think they are freezing the eye but can't remeber why. I am ok though, so I don't think it is anything to worry about!

I think it's to check whether you have any scratches on your eye. You don't feel anything at all so you have nothing to worry about .
