the Brits stuck by us and we should cover there backs.
If Iran "gives in" it will be because they are getting something for it, not because they see their evil ways.

Iran is going to free the British sailors and Tony Blair after few months would no longer be the British prime minister,so the whole thing is just a baby game!

Phoney Blair doesn't have the balls to even talk tough, never mind take tough action - As soon as he heard of the kidnapping (that's what it is), he should have declared it an act of war, stating that if the hostages weren't released unharmed in 24hrs, Iran's largest oilfield and the rulers' palaces would be taken out using cruise missiles and/or air strikes - with further severe consequences if Iran still fails to comply.

As it is, political correctness is Blair's number one priority - that's the whole reason a bunch of barbarian savages were able to kidnap a bunch of elite marines without a fight - Rules of engagement mean that our navy's first role is now diplomacy, when it should be fighting.

I expect the prisoners will be released eventually, because I think/hope that the Iranians are just putting on a show of strength, but don't really want to risk any real action.

Well Iran went to a different phase against Britain so why not?

Not yet, he's just talking tough for the cameras. Any deal to return the sailors will have to involve the Iranians not losing "face" over the deal. Aminnyjihad talks even tougher. And is willing to martyr as many as it takes to get his share of glory at the foot of Allah's throne.

He owes it to them because they are British Subjects to trade for their freedom ,he could send in the S.A.S.to rescue them but he won't , he has sacrificed our people before, remember Ken Bigley and Margaret Hussain. He always goes on Holiday when the going gets tough.Oh I forgot ,that is providing he can afford a Holiday ,Cherie may have overspent on the Housekeeping again. But nevermind she will persuade him to take it out of Public Funding. They are a pain and such a drain.

subhan: "God" has nothing to do with it --- by whatever definition of god. It is insane humans who terrorize their own people. This is murderous and cowardly insanity. It is the full cultural environment of many islam states that prevents true progress in that region.
My country fought long, worked hard for generations to create and maintain what we now have to live within. Does our government make mistakes? You bet. But, most of us 300 million, Britain, France and others truly believe that having freer choices in our lives has far greater benefit than slavery and be-heading, etc. I'll go with the two-headed coin on this one: heads we win and heads ignorant insanity loses.

If Iran continues to push the issue, I hope so or they show weakness and prove to the terrorists that they are winning the war of wills.

Oh yes it will go to a different phase, but that does not mean it has be a military response.
Iran will eventually give in once they realize they will get nothing but more assurance they will not get nuclear capabilities.
