How about North West? Hermitage Castle. There was a supposed Warlock who lived there. He was nothing more than a child molestor. The town's peole finally got fed up over the missing children and killed him. Soulis I think was his name. I heard he haunts the place even today.
My family was charged with keeping the castle security for many years during the days of the boarder reivers. We were Elliotts and Armstrongs. Queen Mary of Scots kicked us out because we almost killed her future third husband during a skirmish. We've been reinstated since then though... thank goodness.

Sussex is Haunted, Kentwell near Lavenham,is definitely haunted, it is a moated Manor House.
