I have tried all your suggestions so far, and nearly every one seems to work.
Next question: how do I connect my washing machine to my computer?

Pull that long cord on the left side. Yank it really hard. You may have to prime it a bit first. If it tries to start but just sputters, give it some more gas. Oh wait....you said computer didn't you.......sorry
