There are many hundreds of MBA books.

Many times the universities recommend very academic books which are poorly written and often contradict themselves.

I would recommend the following.

First read one of the books titled something like MBA in 10 days. They are fantastic because they cover the most essential concepts. If you understand these then 50% of the work is done. Chances are your teacher doesn't understand the core concepts so they just give you random facts and information. So this is really worth it.

Then read one of the thinner books on the subject. They usually have good definitions and examples.

Finally read the books recommend by the university while banging your head against the wall while doing it. I once spent a whole night checking all the contradictions in one chapter of a book so I could help my students the next day.
