I live in a three story condo building and the people who live above me have no jobs and inherited their condo so they have no respect for the building or cleanliness. Their pipes are all clogged and walls are rotted with mold. We are replacing our bathroom ceiling a second time after their toilet overflowed and sewage water spilled through our exhaust fan and also into our water heater room. The plumber said their toilet was clogged and they kept using it and that human waste was all over the toilet and floor. Their sinks don't work, their toilets don't work, they have matresses on the floor with fast food wrappers stuffed everywhere, they leave beer cans and cigarette butts all over the building, and are extremely loud at all hours. I don't know what to do anymore. I know to sue for the price of the ceiling repair, but I would like a long term solution.

Thats what you pay condo dues for. The association is there to make sure that people like your neighbor don't reduce property values for the other people in the complex. Take it up with them, get involved with the board of directors, and start pelting them with fines until they get the message and move.

Do you pay annual/monthly fees to a condo association? If so, go to the board and complain. There are laws about condos because you share walls - check with the association and see what your right s are as a property owner.

Complain to the condo association. They will enforce the cleaning of the condo, or force a foreclosure by the association on them.

You need to get a good lawyer and keep throwing lawsuits at them until they get the picture. You might also want to contact the public health department, perhaps you can have their floor condemned.

Contact someone at the local county government offices to see if there are any ordinances they can enforce.

It doesn't sound like they will ever move...If you are able to, move out now before you go into debt over someone else's negligence..

move out to a different place and/or report the problems to the landlord so appropriate actions can be taken.
