Pour in full strength white vinegar, and scrub with a ball of aluminum foil. Wash with soap and water and rinse and dry.

Denture cleaning tablets are awfully good or boiling hot water and liberal amounts of vinegar and leave for an hour rinse well and repeat until the pot is clean

i just visited the above site. it is best. however i suggest give the silverware to silversmith for real good polishing. if u want to store the silverware keep all separately in transparent polythene pouches/bags. keep checking every few months. at any sign of discolouring get them polished
