Well if you watched mythbusters youd know its pretty much 50/50 the only physics to support it is you hold it in your hand butter side up an da average human height allows one rotation of the toast before hitting the ground.

Mythbusters actually tested this theory/myth and of course busted it. There was no conclusive evidence that suggested it 'always' would.
