Good for you. Your guppie will be fine in the bowl. Just remember to do routine water changes. Since guppies DON"T need a heater they are cold as well as warm water, salt, fresh and brackish water fish. They are hearty, virsitile and can tollorate a varitety of water contiditions which is why the aquarium world produces so many of them each year. And why new comers to the aquarium world start with guppies and are steered by store owners to do so.

He will be fine. Just remember routine water changes, and feeding.

Good going!

Unless you are going to get it a proper set up, which would mean a tank with a heater and filter, you might as well just let it stay in the cichlid tank. That way at least the guppy will die a fast death instead of dieing a long death from being poisoned by ammonia. You did buy it as food for the cichlid so why are you trying to save it anyway?

As I and others told you in your last quesiton, not for long. The bowl will never properly cycle and you will have problems with heat / cool as well as ammonia build up. You need a room in the house that always stays about the same temperature and always around 75-85 F so that he stays the correct temperature. You will also have to clean out uneaten food after every feeding and change the water in the bowl every 2-3 days without fail. Not an easy job.

Get a breeding net and place it in the main tank. This way the guppy can still be in the main tank but he can be safe.

get a 10 gallon with filter and heater... get a few more guppies, they like to be in groups... no fish belongs in a bowl.

I would try finding a smaller bowl for him...the lesser the water to heat...and, invest in an aquarium heater..plus, get more guppies...they like to swim in a swarm!!!
