No, because the life sentence is "for as long as they live".

It doesn't say that it ends at death. If they are alive, they are still serving.

yes ... declared dead if they are brought back then they have served their sentence... and yes it has happened in history... check out history of st augustine, florida hangings...
I'm sure they're others... history can be stranger than fiction

suicide is not considered a part of the judicial process in that it can't complete the life sentence requiremtn. Only the death with witnesses in a sanctioned death can be ruled as death to complete the life sentence... does that make sense??? lol.... only if the right witnesses to the death are present and can certify that the inmate was dead for a certain amount of time. Then after that time if the inmate comes back to life for whatever reason they have to legally set free if only 1 life sentence... hence the 2 or more life sentence terms....

Actually, there is a "degrees of dead" if you want to be technical.
There is "no pulse, no breathing" dead and brain dead. No pulse, no breathing dead occurs before brain death and is the window of opportunity that you have to successfully bring someone back. Once brain death occurs the point would be mute because this is a dead that there is no hope of bringing someone back from.

So, assuming you are just talking about clinically dead - no pulse, no breathing then I say that the person was not actually fully dead and if sucessfully rescucitated then they need to serve the remainder of their sentence. If they are "dead-dead" or brain dead then I guess they paid their debt to society and we can take them out of prison and bury them.

Their life is technically not over yet, so throw em back in the slammer.

If it was don't you think these guys in for life would be attempting to do that every day?

As far as I know, people don't come back from the dead.

Near death yes. But dead is dead.

I guess so. Good question. As sensible as a guy's execution being delayed because he's ill. (This has actually happened....)
