I wear glasses when I am driving, reading, and watching tv. The rest of the time I don't need them.

you asked a good question... the avatars have nothing to do with the exact look of the person... i think yahoo have devised avatars for using as logos for quick identification of a particular person... so are the nicknames... both are for identification of one without disclosing his real identity...
i think you have changed both of them recently... just mentioning...
