I am getting ready to have my 3rd c-section on May 4th and the epidural isn't really bad at all, it just has a little sting to it. You will feel some pressure when they give either of those to you but it won't be to bad. They also give epidural's to women who are having a v-back (vaginal delivery), if you choose to not have an epidural you will probably regret it. Im sure that the pain of a big head coming out from between your legs will be much more painful. Also, if you have a c-section you won't feel a thing during the surgery, but after they sow you up/staple you shut, you will be put in a recovery room for 2 hours where you will not be able to lift your head or see your baby. Lifting your head up to look around can cause what they call a spinal headache. Once your two hours are up in recovery and you are doing okay they will move you to your regular room and you will be reunited with your baby. Congratulations!!!!

Most pregnancys don't end in C section.
There is a little discomfort as they put in the epideral, then you don't feel pain, you still feel some, but it does not hurt. I had a c section , bikini cut, with epideral. I could feel them (the doctors) tugging and pulling while they were taking baby out and tying my tubes, but it did not hurt, a weird feeling I can only explain like a dental procedure, where doc has his hands in your mouth, but your mouth feels numb.
It took me several hours before I could get up and move around after the epideral. The alternative, being knocked out for the birth of my last child, was not a good option for me, I am glad I was able to see her when she was born, and my recovery wasn't all that bad. (my previous c section was worse, classic cut.)
I did have 2 babies natural birth, no meds at all. That was the best for me!

Most of the time when a woman is in labor, and having a contraction she doesn't even notice the feeling of the epidural being injected into the spine. That is because of the pain she already feels from the contractions. After just a few seconds you can feel the effects of the epidural. The whole lower half of you body will feel numb. Someone could chop your legs off and you wouldn't even feel it!

I simply had my first little one 6 months in the past. Yes i additionally have shyed away from an epidural, my intent used to be seeing that it used to be extra riskier for contamination and didnt wish a catheter. So i had him evidently no meds in any respect. IT used to be no longer as dangerous as i anticipated and that i believe you must definetly do it additionally. Its larger seeing that with out the epidural your frame evidently pushes the little one out, it used to be an mighty feeling. Instead of pushing... the medical professionals stored telling me to give up pushing however my frame used to be robotically doing it, they stated that occurs whilst you dont use an epidural. It used to be a satisfactory revel in the supply used to be so useful although i used to be in hard work for fifty hours, however keep residence so long as you'll be able to earlier than you cross to the hosp its so much larger like that. I recovered in two days i used to be capable to transport round and blank and do ordinary stuff. I needed to get 12 stitches additionally. That facet harm alot worse then giving delivery!!! Just believe your frame is supposed to do that. It used to be such a lot simpleler and no more painful then i anticipated, when you begin pushing you particularly dont suppose ache anymore, the contractions like depart.

Why would you think you might have a c-section? Those are only used if medically necessary where I live.
Apparently an epidural is a long needle with some type of numbing medication injected in your back..
I am going natural, so I don't know what it feels like. I have heard the actual injection hurts

an epidural and a spinal block are to separate things. alot of doctors recomend a spinal over the epidural. from my own experience my first son i had an epi and i all most DIED, my blood pressure dropped, my son lost his vital signs and i was rushed into an emergency c- section, he was DEAD on delivery, they shot him in the heart with epinephrine and it brung him back. with my second child i choose a spinal. i had no complications. everything went smooth. i wasn't in any pain and there wasn't any side effects. not to scare you with my story. talk with your Dr. and ask what he thinks will be best for you..... good luck......
