EXCELLENT question. I do not think so. They don't care enough about the people they step on to get to the higher "level" to worry about what those people think of them. And then in ICU's sisters case, how many people really feel the same about her now. So even if she used a safety rope, did it work. Nope.

Nope... they grasp for finger and toe holds in the hearts, minds and pocket books of others. Works well for the climber... and prepares the climbed for the feeling of a foot to the face.

I have tried using safety ropes to help me social climb, but no matter what I do, I seem to rappel people. I must be over the hill.
