I've found a lot of information on modular / pre-fab homes. I was interested in possibly purchasing a 3,000 square foot pre-fab home however, I can never find a general price range for these homes. I've heard you can save a lot by purchasing pre-fab, I wanted to do my homework (research quality, durability & reputation) but before any of that I just wanted to get a general sense of how much they're going for.

I looked at a pre-fabs in the Sioux City, Iowa, area that were about 2500 sq ft and less. They were going for close to other homes(110k for the largest) without the hookups to water, sewer, electrical, etc. They were nice ones, though.

There are numerous modular home builders throughout the country. I would start by goggling "modular homes". I cannot remember the company I came across that actually give you prices, but at least its a start. Keep in mind that you have to figure in about 10-20k for water/sewage and electrical hook up.
