Not everyone here is mean. Just ask and answer and have fun :) Who cares what people over the internet think of you?
When they are consumed with disliking someone that "someone" has free rent in their head.

You sound very young. New in school? Sometimes the established students are not quite sure how to approach a new student and may be a little afraid of rejection themselves. The old adage of BE A FRIEND IF YOU WANT A FRIEND stands true. Try making the first move and ask them a leading question like, where's the best place to hang out after class. It may get a conversation started. Good luck.

Bobby bobby, it isn't mean.It is intellectual arrogance in a abstract dimension. The truth is, YA is a mental enema, where we come to entertain, encourage and self medicate. It is not for the very sensitive, we do it with no malice but offer a wide demographically views to a personal and impersonal issues. I am sure in a few weeks of being here you will acquire a sense of being just like us. PS we never admit this to any one else.

I have not been mean at all, but some of my friends have been getting suspended for people reporting and it is over silly stuff. So if you are not reporting people no one has a problem with you

Good point, but that's the way in real life too. Some people are just inconsiderate and can be mean. Don't take it to heart.

just dont be a jerk, too often new people get offended, or dont realize that a lot of these questions are just goofing off for most of the people here. no need to take everything so serious. as in life, lol
