In fact cricket matches are fixed by not only the underworld but by the governing body also. It is very evident that the progress of each tournament is decided beforehand to keep the fans' interest on the game. That seems to be the reason that India has entered into maximum finals in the last 5-6 years, despite having a really weak team. You should note that India is contributing to almost 75% money generated by cricket worldwide.
This time(World Cup 2007), the organisers were got trapped with Woolmer's death, that they could not arrange Indian victory over Sri Lanka. So the ICC is going to incur loss of huge revenue as Indian fans may shy away from the tournament.
But, for India, the early exit is a great news. The biggest loser in this will be betting mafia, which inturns promotes terrorism in the country and the world.
Cricket is just like WWE wrestling, just meant to entertain the people through artificial moves.

Yes sir..
It's S.L & Australia!
2007 April History repeats itself on world cup cricket..
But Every match is not fixed.
whenever giant fall it's Match fixing..
No way..its ridiculous..
Look what we have got here...
We have solid facts for that.
SL has upper hand...
Its all the way for Asian Teams
No more white people ruling the Cricket World
But see how they became top of the world right now...
Though they beat india They still had to give their best ever performance..When Robin Uthappa and Sourav Ganguly walked in, India had a target of just 255 runs, on a wicket which had dried and gone flatter. But nobody showed the determination to stay on, except Dravid. It was his flurry of fours off Malinga in one over that had raised the hopes of Indian fans just for a while.
Perhaps the turning point was Sachin’s getting out to Fernando, through the gate for a duck. That was a vital blow. India could not recover. The panic button was pressed. Whatever little chances India had went up in flames when Yuvraj was run out foolishly.
It is really worth analysing the difference between the two teams from the sub-continent. India’s strength was batting and given the proper conditions, their medium pacers and the spinners could be devastating. If not, their shoulders start drooping and the bowling goes haywire with all kind of experimentations. It could happen to the batting too.
Exactly opposite are Sri Lanka, except that their batting is as good if not better. We were the big brothers when they started. Now they are the elders. What an irony. They are better fielders for sure, and the bowlers bowl to the field under any circumstances unless it’s a completely off day for them.
Muralitharan is just outstanding. And most importantly, they play as a team and not as individuals. And that’s the thin line that differentiated the two teams. We saw absolutely no regional biases, despite all kinds of problems in their small country.
But they now have to beat only 3 teams to advance easyly to much awaited semi finals.
Long live Cricket.

Since cricket is a game of uncertainities, nothing can be predicted for sure about the outcome of a tournament.
While Australia and Sri Lanka have got chance to win the world cup, even coutries like South Africa, New Zeland and West Indies also are capable of winning the world cup. Whichever team plays to their potential consistently during the super 8 games will be the ultimate winner.
As for the remarks made about Yuvaraj Singh and Dhonio, it is totally unfair to speculate against anybody without any sufficient proof or evidence.

What if Australia and Sri Lanka not making it to the final? I think you are just comforting yourself after India's exit from the world cup. Pakistan lost to Ireland but I don't think if the match was fixed. They, Pakistanis played bad cricket and lost. Every time a strong team loses to weaker opponents why we asian making a fuss and calling it match fixing? What do you say about Bangladesh beating Australia last year in England? was that fixed too?
