if its a continuous repeating long beep, it's probably your memory. Take your memory out of your computer and see what happens. to remove the memory, push the tabs downward on each stick of memory until the memory comes loose. if it is not a continuous beep, is it a short beep and a long beep? three long beeps? etc.

The problem is with your Memory. If it was the motherboard then nothing would happen at all and you wouldn't be hearing beeps.

Try taking all but one of the sticks of memory and alternate them in the system to find the bad one.

There is a PC Basics article at;

that might help.

Hi. Long beeps usually mean the RAM is not found. But check this list against your system. http://networking.ringofsaturn.com/PC/beep.php

Hi,

Most likely your PC has a memory problem. Did you play around inside the computer lately? Check the RAM stick(s), remove and re-insert them. If that doesn't (most likely) you have a bad RAM stick.

Just wanted to laugh at leon. :)) I was going to say that I just think it is time for a new computer. I had one that did that til it died, not to long after it started making those noises. I don't know what a motherboard is though. :P

Good luck and have a great day

the beeps signify that there is something wrong. Depending on the board, and the number of beeps, it could signify that your video card is dead, your input device is not attached, or that the RAM got lost

The problem is definitely with the memory . Take out the memory from their slot, and clean it with a dry cloth and re-install.In case the problem persists.Loosen up your pocket since you'll have to replace new memory.
