Pat did served in Iraq and later in Afghanistan, where he was killed.

There were rumours that he asked his platoon mate to vote for John Kerry instead of Bush again.
But it cannot be be confirmed.
Pat died on April 22, 2004, while the election was 6 mths away on November 2, 2004.

He died for a worthless cause, killed not by enemies but by his mates.
It was not worth it.

Friendly fire deaths happen in war. Anyone in battle can tell you how much of a confusing mess it is. The problem here is with the military trying to cover things up. One can but wonder if the military follows the lead and example of the Commander-in-Chief or visa versa. Shortly after Tillman's death some military officer should have been at his family's home explaining the whole thing to them. People understand, they don't like it, but they understand things like this. Once told the family can proceed with closure and move on. All this has done is open up feelings and makes people wonder what else haven't they told us. It may be a long time before his family gets closure; all because of some military brass not doing their job correctly. Demotions or firings should be in order for one or more of the officers.

I don't recall Tillman making any comments about his service in the Iraq invasion. He volunteered to fight. That was the whole point.

He didn't have any problem going to Iraq or Afghanistan.

I would like to know where you get your information.

Unfortunately friendly fire has always been a part of warfare. It is less a percentage of casualties today, than, in the past. Mistakes were made, but, war, like life, is sloppy and fast, at times, and unfortunate events can occur. It is a pity Tillman's family needs to hear of friendly fire taking Tillman's life, we, as a people, should let people be remembered with honor, and, not politicize the issue of ones death.

Pretty big stretch to make that assertion, but we have grown used to the lefts changing of news to fit the agenda. Tilman enlisted in 01, and was trained and deployed to Afghanistan well before the ramp up and invasion of Iraq. I do love the one comment above about him trying to get people to vote for Kerry, He was killed in 03, election was 18 months later.

I was listening to NPR this morning and they were interviewing his mother. She states that the army apologized for the mess, but there was no cover up. She begs to differ. When she was talking with officials, she stated that it was quite a different story. She insists that it was covered up to keep support for the war going. So, he was killed by friendly fire, then they covered it up. After further investigation, they state differently than what witness saw. The Army states that they were driving by shooting. Witnesses say that they got out of the vehicle and started firing. Why cover that up, I wonder.

He was killed in Afghanistan so I don't know what his death has to do with Iraq. As for his stance on the Iraq war, I don't know. I didn't know him, and I doubt any of the countless twits who will respond to this did.

Here you go again...twisted and slanted
Tillman, gave up his career to go to Afghanistan ( not Iraq) There is no indication that he was anything other than a Patriot.
