ok so im a big tough person not really afraid of anything apart from 4 things spiders, moths, wasps, and bees!

and they all come out in the summer (well actually spiders are all year round....but back to the question!)

im terrified of wasps and bees they are my biggest fear, i got chased by 3 yesterday (i probably wasnt it was prob just my paranoia that they was following) anways i suffer form anxiety so it really doesnt help, and i have bright dyed blonde hair....IS THEIR ANYWAY! i can repel them?? is it save to spray repelent on yourself??

or if any of u live near brighton in the uk, is their a place where their are like human controlled nest things so maybe i can just try and conqure this fear? its really bad, i refuse for any windows to be open day or night, day because of wasps and night cos of moths, and it seems every year my fears get worse, im meant to set an example for my nephew not teach him to be afraid of bugs!

also.... just to explain ive only gotten stung once by a wasp so i know im not allergic so that isnt where my fear has manifested from.

and moths, well those arnt really important that fear manifested when i got a huge one in my bathroom and smacked it with a newspaper and basically its insides sprayed all down me.

my fear has esculated to the point, i get a the hairs on my neck and arms poke up before i even spot my fear....

im 20 now, and i musta gotten stung for the first and last time 13 years ago! 13 years of still fearing is pretty bad!

I HATE BEES. My husband is allergic, so it's a matter of life and death for us to keep them under control. More specifically, we have a paper wasp problem here. Here is what we do:

Just after dusk we take a can of bee killing spray and a flashlight outdoors. We know that they like to nest under our handrailings and behind the shutters. These stinging terrors are inactive after dark, so we simply shine the flashlight around and blast every hive we see with the insecticide. We do this atleast once a week, sometimes twice if we see them around in abundance during the day. After you blast them well, knock the nest down with a stick if you can reach it.

Some people are against pesticides, but when it's a choice between pesticide or a funeral, I choose the chemicals...

You're not alone; I think insects are fascinating, but wasps are one of my fears as well. Check with a local nursery or similar garden store to get a wasp-killing spray; it shoots insecticide about 10 feet, and really nails them.

As to the bees - it's *possible* to get stung, but unless you REALLY annoy them, bees aren't NEARLY as aggressive as wasps. Spiders are pretty much the same way. Moths won't hurt you at all - they have no stingers whatsoever, and the only thing they're interested in is eating :-)

I have not been stung in years. I'm now not certain if i have been stung via a bee earlier than however i've been stung via a wasp. I consider wasps are particularly traumatic in view that they simply sting. And bees could mostly most effective do this in case your particularly traumatic them.Plus they make honey.Which is helping me alot whilst i've a bloodless.

i'm sorry for your fear... but none the less WSpring , Summer & Fall all have wasps , bees, and mosquitos.... Yes the odds of getting stung are slim, and you have proven that twice in 13 years...

The areas where they congregate should be sprayed with a good wasp killer spray... they eventually will not come to that area...

I hope you enjoy the Spring

Here in the US we have a product made by Bengal. It comes in a spray and you can spray it around your home on the ground, the eaves of your house, trees, shrubs, whatever, and it kills wasps and bees instantly. I don't know if it is available in the UK, but in the US it is available at home and garden centers and hardware stores. To find out more visit:
