I used an HPT in January and it was very light but positive. A week later after blood test to confirm preg, I miscarried. I tested again Mar 27. Not really even sure I saw a line (its about 4 days past period due date). What my question is, will the line be lighter due to the lower levels of HCG? I think it does but not sure.

The line can be lighter due to lower levels, But some tests just have lighter lines. Try a diff. test in a few days, because HCG levels rise fast.

It might be really light anyway. I took a bunch of tests and the line (negative line) was always very light. Your best bet is to go to the doc if you even think it might be positive. It saves you the trouble of re-testing.
