I do understand that you might not get called back if they aren't interested in you.

Sometimes it's up to you to call and say "I dropped off my application last week and was wondering when I could expect to hear from (whoever does interviews) to set up an interview?" This shows that you really want the job. And you'll find out weather or not your going to get a call back or not. You should also generally find this out before leaving your application anywhere. When you hand it over, ask then about an interview. They will tell you how long they are accepting apps, and when they plan to have interviews. Two weeks is too long, if you haven't heard anything your not getting the job. Hope this helps.

If you went and gave them your resume and got interested they will give you the schedule of interview right there. But if not it should take them a week. Maybe few weeks. Sometimes there are too many applicant's and needs to be looked at. So be patience if they don't give you an interview find another one. There should be plenty.

well, it also depends on how, when, or what position will become vacated. Usually if they are in dire need of help probably a week. But it just really depends on that employer... I've given job interviews on the spot.
