If you are owing a low end PC there are a few recommended updated before you use Windows Vista : -

1) 1 GB RAM *
2) 80 GB HDD*
3) DVD-RW Drive*
4) Graphics Card (256 MB and Pixel Shader 2.0 Support) *
5) Intel Dual Core 2.8 Ghz*

*These give best performance for Windows Vista Home Premium , Basic and Business . And better performance for Windows Vista Ultimate.

Wait about 6 months, update your Vista software with all the Service Packs and updates that are released at that time and then install it on your computer.

The best way to make Vista work on your PC, is to delete it and install a good open source operating system instead. That way, you wont have near the compatability issues, it is free, and is more secure and reliable. www.kubuntu.org

you have to be sure your computer has what it takes to run vista windows.my mother has it i rather stay with windows xp.
