Do people understand what the word "support" means. Because it doesn't mean - slag off the team and manager, undermine morale, winge, whine and generally behave in a detrimental way to our performances.
Could it be that the present detractors are the same racist people who demanded an English manager? You reap what you so.
NOW BACK YOUR NATIONAL SIDE, and stop being TRAITORS! Especially those ingrates in the scum-press.
Or can't you live in the real world?

Misbehave4me!

So, we can count you out as a "supporter" then! I can think of a few good words for you!

Cheese A. Just so you are absolutely clear. Supporting means you back the team ALL THE WAY. You don't have to be delighted with disappointing performances. BUT DO YOUR BIT, even if they aren't or can't.

Poli. I agree England need more pride, maybe more commitment. But we had some of the most commited English players against Israel. The 11 men behind the ball tactic is a tough one to counteract.

Some of you guys are going to look pretty stupid when McClaren turns things around, despite your best efforts to undermine him. Then I'm sure you'll claim credit for "backing him all the way". England to absolutely HAMMER tiny Andorra tomorrow. Let's agree on that!

I understand fully what 'support' means'. And in return for my support I expect the players to at least put a bit of effort in instead of treating international games like a walk in the park.
If you think a bit of constructive criticism is detrimental to the players' performances then you are seriously mistaken. They are already surrounded by sycophants telling them how wonderful they are. It won't hurt them to live in the real world for once, as you put it.
Secondly, I am fed up of having my intelligence insulted by these intellectually-devoid players. After every game we hear the same old tired cliches being trotted out. If I've spent X amount of money on following them, I expect a bit of pride and passion in return. We constantly hear players saying that "the fans spent good money, we understand they want to see us scoring lots of goals". Wrong. We expect endeavour, as we do when watching our club sides. And players have no understanding of the value of money either.
Finally, I never wanted an English manager as such, I just wanted the best man for the job which clearly wasn't McClaren, who was effectively the manager at the World Cup anyway. And look what happened there.

England Fans are probably the best supporters in the world. I've never seen any other fans tattoo their countries flag on their bodies as much as we do.

I very much understand what the word "support" means but at the moment the lads aren't going anywhere. For years we've always had great players but unfortunately, we never really got anywhere near a trophy. McClaren was right with what he said about Rooney (well if that's true of course) - Rooney hasn't played well for the Three Lions since Euro 2004.

If you're a real supporter it takes some courage to speak up and admit that you're team is struggling. It's not always the managers fault - he's not the one on the pitch. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the balls to sit players down on the bench if they play crap.

what i dont understand , is how you have brought racism into to this, what seems to be a bit of an argument......i am a present detractor, and wanted an english manager. (brand me a racist if it makes you feel better) the whinging and whining is warranted. these players are amongst the highest, if not the the highest paid players on the planet. if they command that sort of pay, then we should demand a performance to match. i believe there are unaddressed problems in the england camp that have been around for far too long. such as the square pegs in round holes scenario. if i were a conspiracy theorist, i'd say that the sponsors were picking the team, couldn't that be why martin o'neil wasn't given the job? mclaren saved their blushes, and never says no, on top of that, his tactics are as good as those of christian gross (remember him?) its all about the money down soho sq, and it stinks.

i fully believe we have the players to do england proud, under mclaren, they have massively underachieved, and im afraid, under mclaren they will continue to do so, along with interference from the fa.

if they sack him tomorrow, i, for one will be calling for an english manager, not a makeshift scapegoat.

signed: a racist (if you like)

English football fans are supporting their country, but they now believe that the only way for England to go forward is to get rid of the manager and get someone decent to lead the side to victory! The people only want the national side to do well, and if the manager got undeserved backing from his fans, his job would never be under threat, and we wouldn't qualify for the European Championships top of the group, if at all. Surely you are not such a fickle fan that you want this monstrocity of a manager (who thinks Stuart Downing is better than David Bentley) coaching what should be the best national team in the world! Now get behind the lads and sing with the rest of them "McCLAREN OUT!! McCLAREN OUT!! McCLAREN OUT!! McCLAREN OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I say support a team that deserves the support and clearly these players do not deserve it.You earn the respect and support,it does not just come when you put the england shirt on.These players have not earnt the support yet!!!

The players of today only play for the money and the stardom i feel that maybe if the wages were not so high and they had to actually earn their money we would get a far better player.

how is it racist ot want an english manager? bit confused really

The fans have a right to moan, whing etc. They pay good money to watch thier team play rubbish and are expected to back them next time out, i dont think so.

Im a Scotland fan and were currently having a good spell, for how long i dont know but when the qualifiers started everybody had us finishing 4th at best in our group. Weve had to put up with years of mediocrity going back to Italia 90, since then weve qualified for 3 finals, Sweden 92, England 96 and France 98 prior to that we were always at the WC but never got to out of the group games, but at least our players wore the Dark Blue with pride, and that is what appears to be missing from England at the moment, pride for playing for the Jersey

since when was it wrong to criticise you team when they are playing beneath an acceptable standard. Ive heard all the excuses that the israelis were negative and packed their defence but surely the england players had to break them down they should have pulled them all over the park with a slick passing game and created the space required to break them down but no maclaren couldn't even read the game england have a great team of individuals its time that they should just admit that they were poor on the day the fa have a lot to answer for More consideration should have been given to their choice of managers i fear for the team when the play croatia

Are you joking?

You expect everyone to be happy after 4 absolutely awful performances? The fans have every right to be annoyed, especially those who travelled all the way to Israel to watch that tripe.

I will always support England, but that doesn't mean I have to be happy with the shambles of a manger that we have at the moment!

I think it is you who needs to live in the real world.

Ha Ha, you live in a dream world if you think that supporting means you can never have a go at your team. What about Newcastle, who are one of the most commited group of fans in the world chanting "sack the board". Are they not real fans?

I form of think of such as you. i think of that the england group are particularly over-hyped and are relatively between the worst communities while it particularly is the Euro or worldwide Cup. we've not relatively won the worldwide cup for the reason that 1966! sixty six! yet yet once you confer with human beings, there nonetheless seems to be basic theory that England are a sturdy group- they are no longer! i like to assist the thrilling communities like Czech Republic, eire, even Russia! it would make for lots extra thrilling viewing if a collection no longer stereotypically sturdy at soccer have been to win or a minimum of attain the purely suitable

I support McClaren's decisions, and I surely respect his vision for the team, but I'm not going to say I think he is the best for the job. But I've got his back and hoping that he will turn it all around for the better and hopefully get England to where they need to be. He may not be the best, but he is what England has right now, and so we've got to hope for the best out of him and hope for him to do the right things and make the right decisions no matter what, all for the benefit of the England team.
