Too much competition, too many two parent working families,
too many working toward eveything monatary. Our time is too hurried, our priorities are out of wrack and the war has fostered or promoted more of the same feeling just kind of hangs in the air.
If I had to put it in one word, it would be
Dissconnection
From ourselves, eachother and the world we live.

The greatest suffering facing people today is that of people only caring about themselves first and that they have to have more or better then what others have, before they think of people who live with barely anything but agony.

The greatest suffering facing people today, in my opinion, is an innate and strongly habitual INABILITY to "know themselves."
It makes it da#n near impossible to relate with our brothers and sisters.
You must have an uncomplicated and an un-conflicted base from which to launch.

Christians having to deal with gays getting married. Shedding pets. Gassiness.
Also I see on TV sometimes people have trouble cutting a tomato or remembering where the car is parked. And they need a light to come on when they open drawers.

War.
It always starts off with perhaps two people but then the rest of the country, continent or world gets dragged into it and we have to suffer.

self-doubt is man kind's greatest suffering. not only does it lead to fear, but it leads to depression, which in case leads to laziness, sleepiness, anti-social behavior. All leading to the very fundamental case of death and destruction. self-preservation.

technology and the lack of it.
technology: it has made man lazy, inadequate, and dependent so one day when it fails, we'll become clueless and slowly devoured by bears.
lack of it: those who don't have it are living each day longing for it and hoping to someday acquire something that would put them right on the bears lap.
so u see, its a win-win situation... :o)
