Fill a small casserole or microwaveable bowl with a mixture of water and lemon juice (approx 2 cups water and 2 tbsp lemon juice, but it's flexible). Put it in the microwave uncovered, and run the microwave for 7-10 minutes - the microwave should run long enough that the water boils for at least five minutes.
This will cover the inside of the microwave with a water droplets, and the food particles will wipe right off.
Put sliced lemons into a bowl of very hot water and put in microwave. Turn it on for several minutes. When you pull it out, the food particles will have softened and the microwave will also smell great.
The answers are good. I had a microwave with 2years of grime and I sprayed fantastic with oxypower on it. I mean soaked it. let it sit for like five minutes and it came off like magic without even having to really scrub. and a mr. clean eraser.
I just soak 3 papertowels with any normal kitchen cleaner spray,or even windex and microwave for 1 min, then I wipe clean w/the paper towels and it works every time.
I clean microwaves with spray windex with ammonia in it,just spray the microwave and let it soak a little while, but remember to leave the door open while soaking, use hot dish detergant soap water in the sink, and wash out very well, once its clean,go back spray the microwave with the windex and paper-towels will wipe and shine inside an outside.Hope this helps you to keep it clean.
You can also put some water in a bowl with about 2 table spoons of bakeing soda. Let the water boil in the microwave. This some how losens the food that has been baked on. Hope this works as well. Does for me .

The easiest way I have found is to boil water in a cup or glass measuring cup in the microwave and then clean. The steam will loosen the food particles and make clean up easier.

thats eay and a very imp... take a bowl full of water, put it in the microwave and set the microwave to 15 mins...... the steam of the water as it boils will soften the food particles stuck as the food particles become hard over a prolonged period of time so steam is used. after that take a damp piece if cleath with a good dishwashing detergent and clean the inside thoroughly.... then use plain water to clean the inside ...wait for the microwave to dry and its ready to use

Take a coffee cup or a glass measuring cup full of water, put it in the microwave for at least 5 minutes on high. (long enough until you see it boiling in the microwave.) After the water boils, turn off the microwave and let the cup sit in the microwave for another 5 minutes.

After the second 5 minutes, carefully remove the cup of hot water and wipe down the inside of your microwave.

Another method that I found to work is take a kitchen sponge, (one with out the plastic scrubber side). Wet it thoroughly and place it in the microwave and heat it for about 90 seconds to two minutes. After you heat it, let it set for a minute or two in the microwave, then carefully remove it and rinse it with cold water. Use the now sanitized sponge, and wipe off all the food off from inside your microwave. Rinse your sponge again, and microwave again for the same amount of time. Then set it aside to dry. You accomplished two things doing this, prevented germs in the microwave and in your sponge.

That is easy, put a mirowave safe bowl filled with water in your microware and turn it on for about five minutes. The steam will soften the food particles that are stuck and just wipe it clean. Experience talking here.

I think it's a little dangerous to try and boil water in the microwave. You could end up splattering water in your fce if you pull the water out, so if that's what you choose to do, BE CAREFUL! I just use a good all purpose cleaner, and a cello pad. It works just fine for me.

Turn the microwave on for about 30 seconds to loosen the stuff up. Then wipe it out.

Also, from now on COVER the stuff you nuke and wipe up any spills when they happen so you won't have to worry about this anymore.
