Tell him to lighten up or he will be in the doghouse and you won't take him to the vet when he needs it.

I don't know his side of the story but based on yours, he seems to be acting a bit childish. As far as the woman at the desk...I've worked in a vet's office and all we ever did for name changes is update the computer info. Just click and change the name. Sometimes the pet's owner had to write the name down so we could get the spelling correct, but no big problem. And why even bother changing the name anyway. The cat will never know. I promise(unless you tell).

Simple - just let him take the cat by himself next time. (Call ahead to say you'd like him neutered).
Your CAT has a last name? Yes, I'm afraid nowadays with pet theft and security stuff, anytime you change identity information on anything, even a cat, they have to make sure everything is perfectly documented.
Personally, I'm afraid you overreacted. I'm sure the clerk that gave you the form didn't come up with the policy. Of course if you really want to have fun, next time change the cat's name from "Tabby Smith" to "Tabby Smith". It'll blow their mind tryng to figure out what to do.
I'm assuming this was your cat before the marriage, right? You hubby probably just doesn't understand yet that this cat is actually his child now in a permanent fur coat , and the adoption must of course be made legal!

The same thing happened to me with my dog but the vet said the only way I could change my dogs last name was to marry her, I haven't popped the question yet so wish me luck, she can be kinda fickle. Honestly I don't blame you, that just sounds stupid. We let drug dealing illegal immigrants in this country every day, but a f----n cat requires proper identification. As far as your husband is concerned try to understand the thought process of a guy, I believe when a woman gets into an arguement she anticipates a verbal confrontation, however with guys, in many situations when there is a confrontation our brain makes the same chemicals as it would if we were preparing for a fight (scientiffic fact ) so it is a little more intence for him than it is for you. what ever you do BOTH of you need to find a way to kiss and make up. I wish you the best.

Well if you wanted to change the cats last name then you should do what they ask to change it, otherwise you dont want it changed that bad. You said," why do you need to fill out a form for JUST A CAT"....why would you need to change the last name at all JUST FOR A CAT...or why give the cat a last name at all.

Sounds like there is more to the story than you are letting on. Were you nasty to the woman at the vets office? If so, I would be embarrassed to be with you in public as well. Sounds like she was just doing her job. She didn't make up the long form.

I would have just filled out the form....you asked so you should have been prepared to do what was necessary. Maybe it was a bit extreme but some businesses like to dot their "i's" and cross ALL the "t's". If I were your husband I wouldn't go with you either.

how long a form is long? that would be my concern. perhaps the info they really want is for mailing you a lot or if you're paying by check, they simply want to verify your info.
my opinion is perhaps you all made too big a deal of it,even the vet receptionist.

Sounds stupid to fill out a form for that, sounds childish to whine about someone taking the time to fill out the form.

If you love your kitty, filling out the long form should be no big deal. She probably curled up in your lap while she waited for you to change her name. Kitties are so full of love.

Haha, that's funny. He shouldn't be embarrassed by that, it no big deal. Tell him to get over it, the vet has most likely dealt with more memorable things.
