At this moment, the only theatres that can show movies in High Definition are those theatres capable of recieving 'satellite signals' and processors for those signals. It was announced last week that recieving these signals should become a standard but there are other factors involved that will slow this process from happening anytime soon. There are 4 theatres in the United States, right now, that are capable of showing movies in HD, only there are no movies to show yet so they're testing the market by showing 'live' sports events in HD beamed from satellite signals. For those who've never seen an HD movie that was filmed with HD cameras and shown on an HD television it's like seeing the movie in 3D without the glasses! Accept no substitutes! :-)

I don't know about HD, but I have been to newer AMC theatres that play certain movies in --> DLP which is Digital Light Projection. That is probably the best out there right now.
