Nope. I failed biology too. I just took a different science course the following semester to fulfill the requirement, did well and moved on. I'm a successful teacher (not a science teacher, though) :)

Take a w (withdraw) if it is before the drop date without academic penalty. Then take the course again, and make sure you are better prepared. You won't be academically penalized.
Its better than failing and even if you are asked later on about the course, just say you didn't feel sufficiently prepared at the time.
Your college grades end up on transcripts which last for the rest of your life so take them seriously. Good luck!

Oh good lord it's not over!! I've failed a class or two (or more) thus far in my college years. When I decided to try out being a nursing major for a couple of semesters (that didn't last), I was warned that many people will not pass anatomy & physiology the first go through. Yep, I was one that didn't. But all you have to do is just retake the class (think of it as something of a warmup for the class).

Instead of taking an F, you should drop the course with a W (withdrawal). A W is not calculated into your overall GPA. A few W's on your academic record will not affect you negatively. If it will make you feel better, you can talk to an academic advisor first but I am sure he or she will tel you the same thing. But do this ASAP because no drop deadline may be coming soon.

An F or 2 isn't going to ruin your life. It shows you're human after all. See if the course is available next semester under another professor. Sometimes teaching style can affect your own learning style. A hundred years ago when I was in college I failed Botany twice under one professor. I took it again under another professor (same textbooks, same material) and made a B.

If yo know you're going to fail, drop the course. Take it again another time if you need to take it. There's no benefit in having an "F" on your transcript.

Don't be a drama queen (I hold that position, thank you) Withdraw from the course and retake it later when you have prepared better for it,as an F on your transcript won't do you any good. Get tutoring while you're at it .
Your total quality of life is not determined by whether you did well or not in a single course.
At least be happy ( yes you read that right) that you are genuinely failing, and your grades are not being tampered with by some creep of a professor wanting to sleep with you in return for higher (or even any )grades. Read Yahoo.News of yesterday March 26,2007 under Africa and read the report on Nigerian schoolgirls and coeds who are experiencing this awful nightmare.Heck,my own time in Nigeria was seriously marred by this terrible happenstance. I actually lived through sexual harrassment all the way from junior high school all the way through university. Due to my "stubborness", I who have tested with an IQ of 155 , nearly wasn't even awarded a degree in order to punish me for thinking myself too good to play the game right.
You live in the United States and you have access to incredible resources to help you through school.Get a tutor and try again next chance you get.
KEEP IT REAL!!!

It depends really doesn't it? If you want to be a biologist then, Yup, 'fraid so - you're screwed and need to either buck up or quit the course.
If you want to be something that doesn't involve biology then who cares? Quit, try something else and get on with your life. Smoke pot, drink lots and screw everyone you meet. Christ - have some fun and stop stressing! ;o)
