That is honestly a tough one as they are both great and play with a lot of heart. Really, really tough. I guess I will go with Gerrard. He's an excellent midfielder and he keeps the team together. Liverpool could survive without Carragher, but they'd definitely struggle without one of their best players, and not to mention, their captain. I'm not putting down Carra in the least though, don't get me wrong. It is just that Liverpool seem to struggle more on the attack than they do on the defense. But I love both and would be terribly sad if either left.

that's not gonna happen neither will leave Liverpool.both of them are boyhood fans of Liverpool, carragher is old school defending he drives on instinct do not let the ball near the keeper and clear as far as possible.
everyone still think Gerrard made Liverpool but its the other way around(don't get me wrong i love Gerrard just as much as every other Liverpool supporter)
Carragher to stay

Wow, that would be like a parent having to choose which is their favourite child!
They're both so important to the club, it's difficult to imagine it without either of them.
But if I absolutely had to choose one, it would have to be Stevie, based on the inspiration he brings to the fans and the rest of the team.
Carragher is probably the most consistent and reliable player in the world, but when Gerrard's on fire he's a world beater, absolutely incredible. You can't put a price on genius... :)

Steven Gerrard has proved beyond doubt that he is one of the best players in the world (at club level) and would be the first name on any right-minded manager's teamsheet, unless the following were on it (not including keepers) : Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba, and David Villa; at least for this season. I don't see Jamie Carragher's name there.

Of course they are both world class players but let's remember one thing; Gerrard is not only a player but a leader... His presence in the field is more than contributive no wonder he's the second captain in the national side.
Thanx!

Absolutely no contest, although I really like Jamie Carragher he is just not in Steven Gerrard's league I`m afraid. Kolo you have more chance of winning the Premiership than getting your mucky paws on Stevie G.

Steven Gerrard - he's in a class of his own, and to quote Thierry Henry, when asked who's the best player he's played against :
"Steven Gerrard. He's an all-rounder, and when he's in tune he's unstoppable."

Keep Stevie G of course, because it would have to be a lie dreamt up by Ferguson to say that Carra would ever leave LFC unless it was in a box.
