Why did satan send Stienbrener to buy the game? Also how stupid are Yankee fans to jump all over A-rod for one medeocre season?

The reason the Red Sox are now spending loads of cash on players is they they have no choice if they want to compete in thier division with the stankees.
Also to say to hate the Yankees is un-american is dumb. The Yankees are trying to buy Americas past-time and put it in George's back pocket! Seems to me the Yankees themselves are a threat to the American way of life.

True, the media attack on A-Rod is totally absurd. He's a great ball player. As far as the Yankees being bad for baseball and sports in general, I agree. Way too much money is exchanging hands in sports today. The end result of course is that ticket prices are going through the dome roof. I remember the Yankees pre-Steinbrener era, when the team was owned by CBS, the Yankees then were bottom dwellers. With names like Horace Clarke at second, Gene Michaels, at short, and Celerino Sanchez at third, it was easy to get a ticket to the game and enjoy a day outdoors. Today, I need to take out a loan to buy a couple of tickets.

If the Yankees are bad for baseball, then so are teams like the Royals and Marlins with a tiny payroll. The owners give up opportunities to win so they can save a little money. That is why I hope that if they have a salary cap they also have a minimum amount that teams have to exceed. It makes the game more competitve. As for A-Rod, he is still the best player to ever play the game, and I can't believe Yankee fans want to get rid of him, because they wont find a better third baseman.

the yankees are detrametal to the sport of baseball. they have been for years since king steinbrenner took over. their disrespect for the game goes far beyone their own division. the red sox arent the only team over spending on players to keep up with the jones's. look at the rangers just 7 years ago. how the hell did they ever think they could afford a 252 million dollar man. and where did he end up when they could no longer afford his salary?? of corse, the stankees!!! but in all honesty, i can watch them spend and spend and lose and lose every year! but if they want to throw that money around like theres no tomorrow, swing some my cubbies way! kerry wood is for sale :)

Bad for Baseball?? No other team generates more interest in baseball then the Yankees. No other team has the storied history that the Yankees have. And whatever you may think of Stienbrenner, he is an excellent owner and treats his players very well.

As far as A-Rod, that's just NY. Tough town to play in.

I'm not a Yankees fan, but I'll say this...if Steinbrenner has the money to spend, and baseball does nothing about it, it's not his fault. He is only doing what is best for him in a buisness sense. These owners are all businessmen, and I think that is the one thing we seem to forget. If Bud Selig can't stop free spending by the richest owners, then Selig is the problem, not the Yankees.

Your least favourite sport was once MY favourite sport! Kind of ironic, huh? The Yankees performed a nice sport, although, and so they had me concerned for the primary few innings! But being a Red Sox fan, you can not blame me for being undoubtedly ESCTATIC approximately the ones four exotic, again to again homeruns!=) I might ought to say the Red Sox's second loss towards the Indians particularly set me again. I was once anticipating them to comb proper although the Indians, however that without doubt did not occur! Fortunately, they stored up the momentum and went at the end up 2007 World Series Champions!

First of all stop taking out unnecessary anger out on the Yankees as a team. If you have a beef with anyone it's George Steinbrenner's philosophy of building an invincible ball team.

This is George's way of doing things which he has done from day one when he purchased the team. Had he purchased any other team he would have applied the same winning formula and you would be hating that team instead of the Yankees.

Stop with the money issue!!! Every team in baseball has money. It's just the willingness to go out and get the players. It's not the Yankees fault that most every other franchise is not committed to winning. Be pissed at your own team for taking your money and not putting a winning product on the field.

As far as A-Rod goes, that's all media hype. Too bad you're not bright enough to see that as well.

You could say the same about the Red Sucks. Both teams spend money like drunken sailors, which has driven players' salaries through the roof and ticket/parking/concession prices so high that the average person can't go to a baseball game anymore without dropping at least $100.

Of the yankees position players 6 are homegrown 3 projected starters. of the red sox postion players 3 total are homegrown. the yankees do buy some talent, but a third of their starting line-up is homegrown. They are just willing to pay their players once they get good, so they don't leave.
