No I don't think so. I think the majority of white people are genuinely sorry that their forebears carried on the slave trade. Also it was only a minority of the white people who were directly involved although there might have been some economic advantages to the population as a whole, but they would have been powerless to alter things at that time.You say that black people will resort to rioting to get what they want. What are they actually asking for?I am not American by the way. The second part of your question I really don't understand.Who are white people supposed to be appeasing, and to which thugs are they they giving in to? From the tone of your query I would say that you are a white person who objects to any apology being made to black people as you feel that the apologies have been made out of fear and not genuine remorse.I am sorry, I don't share your sentiments.

Why do you call yourself 'hindustani'? It seems as though you are here to make the real Hindus look bad.
You are not a Hindu. In a topic called 'Would you say Britain has culture?' you said 'drinking beer, eating pork, sleeping with friends' wives, getting a pot belly, shouting and swering at football matches, disliking non whites etc'.
You have a problem with Brits eating pork. You seem to have forgotten that a real Hindu doesn't eat meat at all, so why did you have to mention pork in particular?

Lets get a bit of realism
A. How many of our ancestors owned slaves?
B One of the biggest owners of slaves was the church
C What about the African tribes who raided their neighbours & sold them to the Arabs who in turn sold them to European slavers
D What about all the wars in ancient times when the losers were taken as slaves?
PERSONALLY I feel no responsability about this anymore than a German to-day can be held responsable for what the Nazis did

1st blacks will not riot ,thanks to slavery's effect on the total psyche of black people ,and current ways of dealing with blacks. 2nd it's not an apology,just words spun to appear like one.most white people today remove themselves from the responsibility through heritage. 3rd the slavery issue is a sidetrack that black minds can't see for JIMCROW.yes white people living now and still in certain regions of the u.s. are responsible for black conditions and poor treatment ,disenfranchaisement and rascism, you can't possibly believe bush and others who say that was another time. in gen it's a farce. smokescreen people are being bamboozled.
