You could make friends with people who aren't goth. Friends come in all shapes and sizes. I like the goth look, so I'm sure there are some at your school who would like to be friends with you.

Depending on my mood I sometimes dress like one, but don't consider myself Goth. I love the look, I just don't think I'm fully commited to being one though. And I agree with the poster who said friends come in all shapes and sizes. My sis-in-law is Goth and I love her, she's such a sweetheart, and then I have friends that I love who aren't Goth in any way so you really don't need to be friend's with just Goth's and only Goth's. As my parents always told me, "widen out". Get to know more people. A lot will probably be judgmental of you like the first poster and tell you to "snap out of it" or "quit wearing black", even though black has nothing to do with it. Just walk up to someone and say hi, or compliment them on something they're wearing if you like it. Then they'll be more likely to open up to you in return. Also, some people that are Goth don't dress the part, but on the inside they are. So you would never know unless you both got to know each other.

I know exactly how you feel. I have friends but they are all preppy which i don't have anything against if their nice but they are always like why do u act so depressed and dress like that? There is one other gothic person in my school and she is two grades older than me (there are 916 people that go to my school) so I don't get to see her all that much. If you want to find some other gothic people I would go to a metal or Scream-o concert. Recently I went to an Evanescence concert and even though they are not scream-o they arent that happy either and there were a ton of gothic people like me there. If you want to contact me for another gothic person to talk to my e-mail is Bladeyoustain86@aol.com

not a lot of people can say this but i know how you fell. i'm a goth as well. and i still don't really fit in, but i found that there some at my school. there not a lot but some. So if you have some goths at your shcool. you should try to hang with them.

maybe see if there is a local goth clothing store, club/hang out, book store..... and then see who is hanging out/shopping at those places and introduce yourself to them (maybe even an employee there) and network from there

Goths don't seem to want to fit in. Stop wearing black clothes and wash up.
