My fiance and I had sex last weekend without a condom (it was our first time without one) he finished inside me and everything. I'm on Nuvaring and follow the directions to a T. I'm not really nervous about getting pregnant but I feel like I should be? I'm just so used to using condoms. (I just found out I have a latex allergy). Am I just being silly, or do I have reason to worry?

I think some people are misunderstanding a bit... I said i'm NOT really nervous about it.... trouble is that he is. i guess hearing him worry makes me feel like i should be worried... i dunno if that makes any sense.

Then what is the point of birth control? Isn't that suppose to protect you from getting pregnant? I think you are just paranoid.

It's natural to worry. My wife and I went through the same thing when she started the pill. If you're really that concerned about getting pregnant, consult your doctor about layered protection (more than one method at a time). Also, there are some varieties of non-latex condoms out there.
As a side note, it may be difficult to convince your fiance to go back to using a condom after he's done it without one. Move quickly! ;-)

Using birth control like Nuvaring is very reliable. If you use it correctly and look at the percentages, it's comparable to condom use. I wouldn't worry too much.
BTW, there are alternatives to latex. You can go with the natural lamb condoms (which I personally think are gross and would never use), or the polyethalene ones. They are kinda crinkly but can actually be made very thing and strong, and they transfer heat readily so they're actually a pretty good alternative.

If you are happier using condoms use them. Non-Latex condoms are not difficult to find. I don't know about where you live but in the UK you can get them for free, the same as the latex variety, if you can prove you have a latex allergy.
Some women find that hormonal methods of contraception male them miserable (literally), so I always think it's worth checking out the alternatives before settling for what the doctors push (they get money from the pharmaceutical companies.... so go figure)
Being comfortable is key as far as I'm concerned, so good luck.

If you followed all the directions you should have no problem. I used condoms for years with my boyfriend, then I started taking birth control pills and I am doing just fine. I always think about it a little bit, if he finishes inside of me, but we have both agreed that it’s ok if I get pregnant. So I have no worries.

I believe the different responders. Its no longer a hundred% which you will no longer get pregnant, oral contraceptives are ninety 9% smart. yet there continues to be that a million %. it would be superb to proceed the pill and condoms to be sure your superb probabilities of averting being pregnant. without a condom you're doubtlessly exposing your self to STD or STIs, inclusive of HIV that could bring about AIDS. attempt a latex unfastened condom, they may be somewhat extra high priced yet decrease priced than a baby or an entire life therapy of herpes. stable success with your determination!

If you're used to it and it makes you feel better, there are latex-free condoms out there. Even so, with the condom and the NuvaRing, nothing's 100% except abstinence.

Firstly, you are not being silly. Secondly, theres no need to worry.
His nervouness is rubbing onto you and maybe thats why you are feeling the way you are. Maybe he is not ready for kids yets, so my advice is to be more careful next time. But be rest assured Nuvaring is so effective and theres nothing to worry about.

I wouldnt be too worried. you are on a type of birth control and that has been tested over and over before it can even be put on the market. your fiance does have good reason to be worried though. The only thing i would worry about is if that .1% of pregnancy should happen is if you are ready or not to have a child.

Worry accomplishes what? What can you do until you can take an EPT? Not much more than what you are doing though certain herbalist including Chinese Natural-Physcians can prescribe teas & elixers that are 'guranteed fixer-uppers.' Worry doesn't do a darn bit of good. Simply be prepared to deal with whatever happens and if whatever happens does happen you will have the energy & strength you need to deal with it. Worry only drains the well.
Peace......
)PS// The oldest & still most eficent birth control is the sponge & a strong d ***che afterwards preferably with some form of citrus, lemon or lime - - - (

It is natural to be worried at first. After a few months when he realizes that you are not using a condom and not getting pregnant, he will relax.
